Sikin sokin REMIX is a collection of remixes of songs from my debut album, Sikin sokin, reimagined by a variety of local Finnish producers. Each artist brings their own idiosyncratic approach, forming a refreshing potpourri of atmospheres.

Desto (Signal Life) and APEAK (Changeless) coat the songs in forlorn, icy pathos. On the contrary, max9k turns the titular song into a laidback summer groove. MISJIN brings a similarly easy-going vibe, but subverts it with massive, shattering bass tones. Bass likewise leads the groove in rshu’s old-school trance remix, tailor-made for dance purposes. Closing the album, SYNCMEISTER 20XX’s playful gabber roller coaster goes from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds.

Through and through, these versions mold the album to forms never quite envisioned in the source material. This is part and parcel in making a remix album to begin with, and an impressive demonstration of craft by each and every remixer.
